Allyson, I’d just like to say again what an incredible experience you’ve planned for the kids. My son had an experience like no other – fun, challenging music, and rehearsing with talented and like-minded musicians. The experience of the ensemble is something he hasn’t had much exposure to, and it presents a more intimate relationship for the performer and his music. Your music selections across the two groups were amazing, eclectic and I thoroughly enjoyed all the performances. Thanks for making music performance such a fun and enriching experience for the kids!

Just wanted to say thank you for the scholarship, and most all, thank you for yet another great week at Vivace! I always love getting to meet more and more amazing musicians each time, and getting to know better, the ones from last year. I am going to be sure to invite plenty of friends for next season.

Thank you so much for organizing Vivace each year. I really appreciate all your hard work, and it is always so much fun. I look forward to it all year long. I had a great group this year, and I loved our music. I don’t think I will ever forget how to play any of it. I can’t wait until next year.

Vivace provided the first orchestral experience for my students, and they all enjoyed it. Their positive experience at Vivace added to the motivation and confidence, as they auditioned for local youth symphonies this year. All the girls really enjoyed the chamber group experience too, and can all sight read much better now! (They went from the ‘I Can Read Music Volume 2’ to ‘I Can Read Tchaikovsky Like Nobody’s Business’ !) They all commented on liking the variety of chamber coaches, too, and how beneficial that was — some coaches emphasized intonation and accuracy, some dynamics and style.

Congratulations on such a success! The camp was so well organized and really brought out the best in these kids. Thanks for all our efforts in organizing such a wonderful camp! Wow! My body is full of amazing music and this has to be the best Vivace performance yet. A week at Vivace is an introduction to the artistry and masterful technique of the professional musician. Coaches were inspiring and rigorous while the students were dedicated and enthusiastic. Polite, hardworking, incredible young people; my congratulations to you on a wonderful summer of chamber music. My daughter’s technique and artistry in piano gets better each year with Vivace. Finally, thanks for the hours and hours you spend to pull this off. Mia also wanted to thank you for the great coaches and tips she received. She especially enjoys the friends in her groups during the week and listening to other’s incredible music while making her own.

James said that he appreciates that the sessions are broken up into shorter segments. He also likes the coaches, the conductor, and the fact that you run a tight, disciplined ship. We also appreciate that he gets to play chamber music — something that isn’t common for a bass player.

I LOVED VIVACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so sad when it was over yesterday. You do a wonderful job matching age and skill level in the chamber groups. I definitely grew as a musician, but I never felt stressed over the music. My whole chamber group (B-11) exchanged contact info yesterday after the concert because we became great friends during the week and did not want to leave each other. Thank you so much for organizing this camp! It has definitely been one of the highlights of my summer! I look forward to next year!

Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this. David had a wonderful time. At first, he was afraid he wouldn’t perform up to standard. After the first day, he let us know how excited he was, and happy he was to be in this camp. He loved being a part of something so much bigger. He also said that it made him want to play better. He wants to go again next year. Thanks again for all the time, energy, and passion you shared.

Thanks so much for the wonderful experience Lucy had at Vivace Camp last week. She enjoyed it immensely, made new friends, and especially loved the experience of playing with an orchestra. It’s a lovely program you’ve put together and the recitals were an excellent showcase of all the hard work and talent the kids brought to Vivace.

We can't thank you and Kenny enough for your immense dedication to our kids. Vivace has become the highlight of their summers. They love the music, they learn so much from the coaches, and they think you are a genius for choosing group members that they enjoy so much. Thank you again for sacrificing so much of your time to provide the Vivace experience for all the children.

My daughter had a wonderful time at the camp. I think she likes the social aspect as much or more than the piano. That's fine with me if it helps her to keep at it. Thank you for all your hard work. I loved it, especially the Scottish piece.

Both of my kids really enjoyed the camp. My son said right away that he wants to do it again. I liked the coaches both kids had overall:, in particular, Michael McLean, Anna Edwards, and Mark Salman seemed to do a particularly good job. Probably others I didn't see. The concerts were great. The Dalcroze was a great idea and allowed the younger kids to move around, good insert in the day. Thanks again.

My boys loved it and would talk at the dinner table about music. What is not to love? Negatives none. It was an excellent experience for my boys. They especially liked working with Robert and Michael Mclean. Accessible male role models who are invloved in music are so important to balance their prespective of the greater world.

I just wanted to let you know that my daughter LOVED camp. What really made it for her was Michael. He taught one of her master classes and played the 1st violin part while she played her part and she was so thrilled getting to play with him it really made the whole experience. He also gave her a nice compliment. It's funny how something so small would make such a huge difference. So a big Thank You for...organizing such a great camp!

I thought the camp was fantastic! Very well organized and great teachers. My only suggestion is extremely minor. I thought your announcements at the beginning of camp and before the performances were great, but thought you should remember to introduce yourself, and maybe say a little about yourself since there were many friends, grandparents etc who were there you may not have known who you were or how you ended up doing all this. I think they would be very interested! I loved the fact that you introduced all the coaches on the first day. Great work!

Both my kids were energized and inspired by their Vivace experiences. Both really enjoyed their fellow ensemble members and liked all of their coaches. My daughter especially liked Heather and Anne (sorry, don’t know the last names) and my son really liked Janet Neumann and Mary Walters. They both wanted me to pass on that “The camp was totally awesome!” They both hope to be able to attend again next summer.

It was a great experience for both of them. I can’t tell you how impressed I was to hear Helene play the Martinu with her young colleagues… and how much Leah enjoyed working in the guitar, string, keyboard ensemble for Corelli. It really sounded great! It meant a lot for me for the girls to work with so many of my friends from the music community… Rajan, Mark Salman, Mary, Peter and Janet among the coaches who are friends of mine… and who I was so glad that Leah and Helene got to work with. You do a wonderful job with this program and I look forward to the girls’ participation again next year.

I can't thank you enough for putting this program together. My daughter is such a social creature, but she's always been intimidated by orchestra. Chamber music camp was the perfect blend of music and friendship for her, and the concerts were astounding. We're looking forward to next year!

It was a great week Incredible how well all the groups came together! The whole progression of the week was really thought out thanks to all of your hard work. It just works so smoothly.

Thanks again for the wonderful experience at Vivace! As an older camper, I greatly appreciated the freedom of the morning rehearsals without coaches, and the excellent organization made it feel as though everything went off without a hitch. I don't think there was a poorly formed group and it was amazing that every student seemed to enjoy the music they were preparing. The coaching staff was wonderful; always helpful and friendly, never critical. They were also quick to encourage our own musical interpretations, presenting their ideas as suggestions, not rules.

Thanks to you and all the instructors for putting on an excellent chamber music camp. The camp vastly surpassed my family's expectations.

As usual, you do magic with these groups Allyson! The venue was so accommodating and very convenient for us. Thank you so much for all you do to make this experience so rich and rewarding for the kids. I love watching all the kids blossom and grow throughout the years! Wow!

My son loved the Vivace program! He said the kids were "smokin" players. I thought the instruction was outstanding and the choices of music were very well thought out and appropriate. From my standpoint as a parent, I was very happy to see my son challenged, but appropriately, and to work with some kids who are really putting something into their music. - What an amazing gift of musicianiship and organizational skills you again demonstrated in the success of the Vivace! Chamber Players week! Such splendid opportunites you opened up for all those musical young people.

Thank you for all your hard work for the fabulous camp. I thought I would get lost in the halls and be late, but you had schedules for each person and directions in the halls and explained them. This has been the most fun and enjoyable camp I have ever been to. I also learned a lot.

Thank you for all the great things you have taught me this week. Your camp had everything that could be at a great camp – chamber playing, musical history, choir, great coaches, new friends, and FUN! I appreciate all the hard work you put into the camp. Can’t wait till next year!!
